Poems about Love

The Ultimate Gentleman

Can you feel the embrace of God?  I've recently heard a line that really struck me.  God is the Ultimate Gentleman.  He doesn't go where he's not invited and he doesn't leave when we need him the most.  He's a great listener.  He's always pushing us to be the best that we can and wants nothing but the best for us.  He opens doors for us.  What else would the ultimate gentleman do???

The Most Beautiful Rose

Have you ever encountered people in your life that have touched you so deeply that you just want to pick them up and place them in your world permanently?  You know it isn't possible, so you just let them be and watch them blossom as the flower they were meant to be in their own world.

Falling In

Sometimes I wonder just why God created chemistry between people.  Endorphins fly when we meet different people who spark something new in us.  He wants us to connect with one another.  He loves when we love!

Surrendering Control

Do you feel secure enough in your relationships to let down your walls?  Your deepest fears are a hard thing to surrender to someone else, because you become vulnerable.

I Miss You

I wrote this one day after I found out a friend of mine was diagnosed with a terrible illness.  While I was writing it, I thought of many people in my past who have meant so much to me.  Hopefully, it will remind you of someone you loved who is no longer with us.

Loneliness

My thoughts on this poem came from reading the scripture verses John 20:11-18.  Mary loved Jesus so much, but how?  In my mind, she felt different from everyone else, she wanted to hold on to Jesus, she was conflicted between romantic love and agape love.  As much as she wanted the romantic love, it wasn't to be.  He wanted her to let go so he could send the Holy Spirit.  The loneliness she felt when her closest companion (Jesus) left had to be unbearable because he was so special.
